Community Action for Climate Change
We are a grassroots organisation working to adapt and build resilience in our community to the climate crisis. We seek to do this through educational events, sharing skills and via a number of local projects. We welcome new volunteers and members who share our aims and who can bring ideas and enthusiasm to our work.
Our Projects
Community Transport
ACT seeks to promote sustainable and inclusive transport for the community through e-bike hire, bike repairs, guided bike rides and minibus transport.
Food Growing
Local food, the skills to grow it, and supporting local producers are a key part of climate resilience. ACT volunteers are active in the local allotments, skill shares and seed swaps.
Biodiversity
ACT supports a number of projects to enhance local biodiversity and recognises the importance of this in maintaining landscapes and communities that are resilient to the effects of climate change.
E-Bike Hire
ACT offers affordable e-bike hire, including e-cargo bikes, to the local community. We also offer bike hire to visitors. E-bikes are a brilliant way to explore the local area, both on and off road. Please get in touch for prices and booking.
